Meet Teish

I was born in New Brunswick, Canada, raised in Toronto, and spent summers in Belgium after my dad moved there following my parents’ divorce…so I like to say I’m from a little bit of everywhere! From the outside, my life looked exciting, but internally, I spent much of my childhood and teenage years battling significant mental health issues.

After my freshman year of high school, work brought my family (my mom, three brothers, and two sisters) to a small town in Nebraska. Around that same time, both of my parents, on opposite sides of the world, surrendered their lives to the Lord and began sharing the gospel with me. Although I heard the truth about Jesus, I spent years chasing achievement, approval, and fulfillment through sports and the arts, essentially becoming my own god.

During my junior year of high school, I found myself reading the book of John and was captivated by Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. God graciously opened my eyes to my sin and my need for a Savior. For the first time, I understood that the abundant life Jesus promised wasn't dependent on my performance or accomplishments, but entirely on His grace. The Lord transformed my life, replacing despair with a joy and hope I had never known before.

I went on to attend the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where I became involved in my local church and college ministry. It was there that I was discipled, fell in love with God's Word, and began sensing a call to vocational ministry. After graduating, I moved to Dallas where I spent a year in the Watermark Institute, studying Scripture, serving on the worship team, and growing in my love for the local church.

It is a joy and privilege to serve God's Church, and lead others to know and follow Jesus! In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing, watching reality TV, drinking strawberry banana smoothies, and eating blueberry muffins!
