Meet Christy

I grew up in a small, close-knit town in New Jersey before moving to Austin, Texas and eventually to Dallas to attend SMU. While working on my Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering in 2008, a stranger and fellow graduate shared the gospel with me the first time we met and followed up by inviting me to Watermark. The emptiness I was experiencing from trying to find my identity and value in other people motivated me to respond to her invite and join her at church. Four weeks later my eyes were opened to the person of Jesus. Although I had grown up going to church and with loving parents, I hadn’t previously experienced a personal relationship with Jesus.

This personal encounter with Jesus changed everything and has led to a life of adventure, experiencing God’s work across various cultures, on mission in Corporate America, and now getting to lead through Watermark Health since 2015. Today, I have the privilege of sharing the same love and care Christ has shown me to the patients and healthcare workers Watermark Health serves.

I live near Watermark South Dallas’ church campus and enjoy being a member within that church body and building relationships in the community. I especially enjoy how my church membership in South Dallas and working with Watermark Health allow me the opportunity to have friends from a diversity of life experiences and see God’s image displayed across all cultures. If I’m not doing something with Watermark Health or Watermark South Dallas, chances are you can find me reading a great book, exploring the Pacific Northwest, enjoying a show at a quirky theater in town, or on a van camping trip with friends.
