Meet Nina

I grew up in a pastor’s home in Boston, MA. I am the oldest of 4, having 3 younger brothers. Growing up in a Christian home, I knew about Jesus and knew the Bible well enough to have all the right answers in Sunday School. As I got into high school, my faith was challenged as I desired to be part of the “cool” kids. I lived a double life, behaving one way with my school friends and another way with my family and church friends. I was prideful, deceitful, and struggling to find my identity.
In my junior year of high school, my youth pastor’s wife challenged me with the reality that I truly hadn’t committed my life to the forgiving and saving grace of Jesus Christ. That night, upset and full of inner turmoil, my mom presented the Gospel to me and reminded me of who Jesus is for me. I made the decision that evening to accept Christ as my savior and pursue him. My life was never the same!
I went to college to study Biblical Studies and Children and Family Ministries. I married my amazing husband, Bobby, after graduation and served as the Children’s Director at a church in Boston for 5 years, followed by teaching elementary school for another 4.5 years. In 2022, the Lord directed us to Dallas, TX as Bobby pursued the Watermark Institute. The Lord has been kind to place an amazing community around us here at Watermark, especially as we enter a season of adoption to grow our family! Fun facts about me, I love to read and average 35 books a year. I also don’t drink coffee because I don’t like the taste.
