Meet Lauren

Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, I grew up in a Christian home as the youngest of five kids. Having attended eight different schools and grown up in a big family, it's no wonder I love being around people! I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at the early age of six. I believe this was the saving faith Romans 10:9–10 speaks of, and though I knew what truth was, it took a lot of life for me to trust the reality of the Gospel; not only was I saved by grace through faith alone, but I am God’s beloved daughter.

After graduating from Grand Canyon University at the age of 20, I remember praying and begging God to make me a godly woman because it felt impossible to be fully secure in Him. In 2021, through a lot of fun God-stories, He moved me to Dallas, TX, where I knew no one. God answered so many prayers and surrounded me with a church family who has shepherded me and continually reminded me of who Christ is.

Over time, the Lord began to reveal that for much of my life, I had been idolizing myself. Through His kindness, He led me to genuine repentance, and I was finally able to truly praise Him for this truth: He is God, and I am not, and He alone is my good! On the other side of that repentance was only deeper intimacy with Him. Finally, a deep security in knowing the breadth, length, height, and depth of the love of Christ that surpasses all understanding!

My husband, JD, and I met in Hawaii in 2024 while he was finishing seminary. At the time, we had no idea the Lord would bring us together in 2026 (another great God-story I’d be happy to share anytime)! Joy comes pretty easily when I get to spend my days outside with JD or my dearest friends. It usually involves pickleball, running, or ending the night sitting around our living room laughing. All of these are undeserved blessings on top of the true gift of Christ Jesus.
